rare or limited cluster????

i pulled the dash and cluster off an 81GL 280zx turbo i wrecked a few years back . launched it off a GUARD RAIL. (it did not stop me) rolled over twice, the body stayed strait car looked as if a minor fender bender happened, motor was even running still.. could not say the same for the frame... and i walk away unscaved thats with T tops boys...
this car had everything including an, a/c dash display ive never seen again, rare chrome package on the body and i mean alot of factory chrome, and snowflake rims..
needless to say i kept all the parts of the car that i thought id never see in another zx
heres a pic of the cluster yall think its got value? speedo goes from 0 to 130 and the odometer only has room for 5 digits

eh?

All '79 280zx's had the 130mph speedo. Rare? Only if you can't buy anything from ebay ( 280zx 130mph speedo's on ebay )

then most likely the previous owner before you swapped it from a 79. all 81's sold in the US had the 85 MPH speedos in them

huh it seemed original had no signs of beeing swapped and even matched the sun fade on the rest of the interior i mean come on whos gonna leave the shitty front speaker in the dash plugged in after reinstalling..and i know it had original interior.. just didnt show the signs of being disassembled
idk 81 was a strange year for the turbos . including the vollentary* recall on the auto trann. which i also rarely see on any auto z's soomethin about a shift lock ill take a pic of the nissan sticker stamped to one of the turbos im sellin..
has anyone bought a z with this recall fixed???

I can swap a gauge cluster and make it look like stock - it's easy - there are no tabs to break, etc - they just screw in. It would have been illegal to install this from the factory and sell it in the USA because of whatever laws you had back then requiring 85MPH gauges. It's not a limited edition or a special option - it's one someone has swapped in.

The only recall I know of around that time is the early 300ZX injector recall. Never heard of the auto tranny recall....
