if the car is running and i press the flap on the AFM in and the idles go it and get better before it tries dieing out it means i need to tighten the spring right?

i got everything going again (new cables/battery, completely new gas) and while i drive the car it surges under steady throttle and at a certian point when i am accelerating it just wants to take off like a rocket. (i.e. not linear acceleration)

plugs, wires, timing, vaccum advance, consistant fuel pressure, and like i said before, new battery, cables and all new gas, no funkyness in my tank
