alright so i went and test drove my first datsun this weekend and i drove fine it was an 83 280zx now the thing was it had quite abit of rust on it and also had oil all over the valve cover. I dont know to much about cars yet so i tool some photos of it and i would just like your oppinions on if the car is good or not

Looking at your pics I would say not to buy unless for parts cars but don't think any of the body is salvegable.

engine looks good but the body is in really bad shape... theres way too much rust... and i can only imagine how the inder body is like... i wouldnt buy it... good luck on the hunt!!!

That's too bad about all that rust! The outside body shot makes it look like a really nice car and the interrior is in good shape too.

 

as i was walking to it i was saying how nice it looked but as i got closer i started to see all the rust and what not and it drove nice aswell but needed a tune up but when i got under the car thats when it all fell apart

 

The owner will sell it to someone who won't even open the hood or look under the car. The buyer will walk away thinking he got a steal!

Hey, I bought a Z like that once. Not quite as bad rust on the body panels, but under it was bad and the fender edges too. Just sold it a year later for what I paid for it. No problem! Someone will just want to drive it as it is and not worry about what the rust might do.
