Yeah the SR20 is a great drifter motor! But for people with 240sxs that cant afford that motor, a simple KA24DE Turbo does the trick. I have hook ups at a 240sx shop and there is the opportunity for me to one day swap one in one day, I think Ill do it. I dont care how many cylinders my car has just how much power, and I'll make better MPG than a LS1

Well technically speaking, a 350HP LS1 probably wouldn't be too far behind (if it's behind at all) on gas milage compared to a 350HP SR20. The only reason small displacement motors get such good gas mileage is because they're not consuming very much gas. Well in order to make those numbers you better believe that SR is going to have to consume just as much gas as that LS1 is And at 350HP from the LS1 you're going to be getting atleast that in torque, probably more. From the SR you're going to have to rev it 80% to redline before you see any horespower or torque. And thats not to mention the god awful whine that is an SR at full song Good alternative for the 240sx owners. But a bit of a downgrade for us Z guys (IMO). It's got the bling factor but thats about it. And you gotta remember, you're not going to be able to push any real numbers out of that SR on pump gas. If you tune the hell out of it you can get some decent numbers. But you'll still be lacking on the bottom end. Thats where displacment becomes king. The more displacement you've got the more power you can make on the street. Sure those SR's are dynoing at 350-400HP. But thats with a risky tune on high octane race gas. Drive one on the street that way with pump gas and you'll be putting holes in your pistons.

Of course the whole american motor in the Japanese sports car is not a widely accepted practice. Taboo if you will. Or basterdization as Rod likes to call it. Thats where some of Nissans heavy hitter 6 cylinders come in.

Actually, one of the guys at my shop is currently working on the engineering for a 5.6L swap out of a Titan...

305 hp at 4900 rpm and 379 ft/lbs torque at 3600 rpm from a stock motor...

He's looking at modifying the bell housing and using a 5-speed from a Z32.

Think about that $4.09 a gallon pic I posted when you start talking V8 swaps.
