Both the ones out of my 280ZX where painted that same gloss black as his old one is.

Interesting... of the 10+ 280zx's I've owned, I know none of them had any under dash metal parts painted.

Maybe Nissan e-coated them on a certain model year or a certain batch of those plates?

The only part under my dash that isn't painted is just that cross bar. Huh interesting lol

I believe mine are painted a gloss black also. In my '82's, and my '83.

the one I pulled out of the S130 I parted was unpainted. unless you consider rust a color...
