Ok, So This

I tryed to start my 81 today. She would not start at first. I had to open her to WOT to get it to spudder. Then i kept trying and it started up. But even at WOT it would not go over 1500RPM. and if i let go of the gas, it died instantly.
I have to hold the starter down to help it build up enough momentum to get going. Yes there's gas in the car.

hey fub is the timing correct, if the dizzy is a few teeth off it will have those symptoms, mine did that after i re-built the engine, i was only one tooth off on the oil pump drive, check for tdc, and then for proper placement of the rotor position in corrospondance to the cap #1 position

I disconnected the tps and started it up. it changed nothing. it won't go over 1200K and it is rough at that. it's like the engine only has two speeds, 1200K and stop.

Check your AFM & CHTS connections. Your AFM may need adjusting...

So it ran fine one day, and crappy the next?

Check the sensors. Also check the sparkplugs to see if they all look the same.

I checked plugs. 2,3,4,5 are flooded. 1&6 show normal. I started the car and ran it WOT to get 1200K for a few min's to see if it could work it's self out. Every 10 secounds or so you can hear one of the flooded cyclinder's kick uin and it rev up a lil, But would drop right back down to 1200K. By the way it sounds, and how rough it is at 1200K, i'd say it's only goin off of 2 cyclinder's

Check the fuel pressure with a pressure gauge. At idle it should be around 28-32psi.

Ok, check your CHTS (cylinder head temperature sensor). If it's not connected or gone bad then it will make the car run really rich.

Also check your ignition box on the dizzy. It could be kicking the bucket.

It sounds like you may have a vacuum problem, Fubie. A clogged PCV Valve might explain the "burning oil". Test it and let us know the results. Also, test the EGR Valve, so we can rule those out.

I would assume oil - that's why I think he should test the PCV Valve. It's located in the center, upper engine area, mounted in the intake manifold. Maybe someone can post a picture to show you what it looks like, Fubie.

Well with the PCV valve it would have to be busted pretty good to let the oil enter it and I would assume through the vacuum of the engine be sucked into the combustion chamber....not sure per say but isn't this the PCV? I have only ever seen them attached to a valve cover. (red arrow)

Yup, that's it. Good job, Thxone! I forgot that some were mounted to the valve cover. It's mounted in the intake manifold on my 82 NA.
