Hey guys... Haven't been on here much lately. Just moved a little further west, not much real estate left 'till I'm actually on the ocean.

Anyway, my Z has NEVER had any kind of dripping leak that I couldn't hunt down and fix in under 10 minutes. But, this one has got me puzzled.

The leak appears to be oil, but it's really gooey and sticky. Doesn't feel like oil at all. To top it off, it seems to be coming from under the front side of the engine. I can't tell exactly where from, but the splash guard had a little residue on it.

Any suggestions on what to check? It's not a big leak. Probably drips a silver dollar size spot every 12 hours.

 

Power steering fluid... Engine oil... Transmission fluid... Those are your 3 choices.

I use to have that same problem. My dad and I replaced the valve cover gaskets on my 1985 300zx, which stopped the oil leak. But NismoPick is correct it can be those many things. Good luck!

 

Shoot... I was just under it for an oil change and couldn't find anything. All fluids up and at normal readings. Maybe she just had to mark her territory at the new house.
