oil Gauge, and oil Pump

I checked the Cold start, it's fireing it's azz off. I got the motor to run for almost 15 sec, a new record But my oil gauge said 0 and did not move. I am worryed. Where is the oil pump located at? and how hard or time consuming would it be to change?

oil pump located on the bottom (left if you're looking at the front of the engine) of the timing cover. It's most likely NOT your pump, but the oil pressure sending unit (located above & right of your oil filter). Unscrew the oil fill cap & see if the cam is oily... if it is, your pump is working (at least enough to pump oil to the top of the block).

If your engine has been not run for a long time, or the oil pump was recently installed dry (not primed) then it could take as long as 30 seconds of good idle for oil pressure to rise up.

Those oil pumps go forever. They always put out.

Try cleaning the electrical connection on your oil sending unit. Mine's been acting up lately, and it's only about 3 years old... Also, sometimes, like Bleach says, it takes a little longer for the sending unit to register.
