No more surging
I finally changed my fuel filter and man what a difference it made. I made sure to save the gas that was in the old filter and it was pretty yellow/orange in color with sand like particles in it. Now the car idles smooth in drive and does not surge anymore. $14 fix. The old filter was almost twice as heavy as the new filter even after I drained the gas from it.
