My '79 280zx

Hi everyone! I've had my ZX for just over a year and figured I'd join a forum and chat some other owners up!

Well anyway it's a '79 280zx, N/A, manual transmission. I picked it up for only $800. And over the past year have fixed this and that and added my own personality to it.

This is the car the day I purchased it:

The interior was completed thrashed and smelled like something had been p***ing it for a year. The interior pieces had also unsuccessfully been painted. So I started tearing apart to refinish:

This is a pic after new carpet and repainted interior pieces. I still need to do the dash but that will have to wait :

Then I painted it!

Most recently came some racing stripes:

I'll definitely get some better pics of how it stands with those stripes in the daylight!! Along the way I've also replaced a few parts and just ordered 6 fuel injectors to remedy a nasty multiple cylinder misfire that crept up on me! Hope you like it; it's definitely an ongoing project/adventure. I look forward to getting to know everyone here

I have just joined this website. My dad passed away and left me his 1982 280Z turbo. He was the only owner and it has alittle over 40,000 miles, and has the seats in the back, blue and platinum color, T Top. Has always been in garage and in mint condition. Can anyone tell me approx. what it is worth? Several people have offered to buy it

Welcome Trex

Always great to hear someones working and a Z and bringing it back from ruin. This is a great resource for info and help, and in general fun place to hang out and read posts. Wont take you long to recognize the regulars, a great bunch of guys and gals, we all love our our Z's, great cars and tons of fun to own.

Cheers Bret

Post some pics of the Car, sorry to hear about your loss, never easy to loose someone close. price and value really depend on condition, there's always someone looking for cherry older Z's. If I might suggest, Keep the car, become a regular at Zdriver, and enjoy the car, cherish it in the memory of your dad and never look back, you wont regret it

Welcome to the club. And yes I definately agree - keep the car. You can always console yourself that's it's not going down in value while you keep it
