New 280ZX Owner
Hello everybody. I recently bought a 280ZX 2+2 w/t-tops. It will be an on-going restoration project, my first. Currently "Baby" is awaiting a transmission. I had the original replaced with a used one, but lost 5th gear in the process. So, it's back to the garage. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions as I get to know my new wheels and thanks in advance to everyone for sharing information. Garnet in San Antonio, Texas

WELCOME... And I feel your pain on the 5th gear thing.. Mine will shift into 5th gear but there is no RPM change I cruise the freeway 75MPH at 3700RPM 
plus I have no gear oil.. 
5 months now and the tranny hasn't exploded

I just got mine, these things own, they feel like a go-kart. I mean, I drove one for the first time yesturday when I got it home..Had a smile from ear to ear.. It's incredible. I am definatly an enthusiast now. 270k!!!
That is of course you think it is a bad thing! 
NO way Z cars are one of the best cars around. Rock on man, and welcome to the Z family!
