Need to buy air conditioning unit for 73 240z

I just bought a 73 240z and it doesn't have air. Is it difficult to get air installed? Does anyone have a link to someone who may be selling a kit?
Please give me a call at 323 823 2412.
Thanks
Frank

Welcome to ZDriver!

An aftermarket kit will cost an arm and two legs (well, actually only $1200): http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/16-7567

If you have some engineering / mechanical skills, you could fab up your own R134a system from junk yard cars for a fraction of the cost (I've actually thought about doing that for my 280zx).

Since we're on the subject of air... Mine doesnt work. Hot or cold. or fans.

</3 Summer in Oklahoma

90 something outside, "Feels" like 110.

And THEN I get in the car.

Would liek air =D

I have all my AC pieces, would that 134A retrofit work or is that bad karma?

I retro fitted my Z. I just had it drained then I used a retrofit kit with a seal conditioner so I didnt have to change the seals. did that like 2 years ago and I haven't had to recharge it yet!

I've read the "For Sale" ads, and every time the ad claims "Working Air", you guys usually call bullshit.

What is with the habit of these cars not having an air system that works?

^ I don't know why. lol It would be nice to have a Z. That the air works in. I will let you know, when I get my Z running. I am hoping to have a/c in it. I will tell you one thing. In the winter, the heater will roast you on just vent. lol

Usually the compressor takes a dump, or there is a leak in the system.

Mine works! But I recharged it about 3 years ago with some R12 (Colorado did (may not now) sell R12 for your car at autopart stores!)
