Im looking for a 1978 280zx. Or at the latest a 1983 model. Im wanting to restore it or if the chance comes around to put a skyline motor in it. I live in Oklahoma if anybody knows where one is let me know

I saw a 280zx for sale right off base. On sooner and the I-40 service road. Only saw it in passing though. so I Don't know year model, mileage, condition or asking price. If i get the chance, i'll swing by and see.

 

Yeah, the one on sooner and I-40 is a 1983 280zx N/A with digital dash and t-tops.

I wouldn't buy it. Frame rails aren't rusted through from what i could see in the lot, but they are beat all to hell. Interior is all ghetto rigged, missing or falling apart. Dash cover isn't even on right. Battery tray is rusted out. battery is just sitting in the engine bay. AC doesn't work. Looks like it got sandwiched between two other cars, then hammered back out. Pings Dings and rust bubbles all over. Engine cranked and ran but it didn't sound right. Wouldn't trust the dealer either. i asked him if it was turbo. He said yeah. I opened the hood and there was no turbo. and hes asking $2950.00 for it. I wouldn't fork more than 250.00 for it. But thats just me.

You just were looking on the wrong side. The Turbo hangs down in the passenger side. It has an extra vent for sucking in air that runs on top of the valve cover. That's the 280ZX Stealth Turbo model. It's disguised as an injector cooling fan.
