injector relay / resistor

Hi, I'm new to Z driver.com. I've read the rules before posting and I've tried to search for location of the injector resistor. I have no luck with it. I have a book thats showing it next to the brake master cylinder. But its not there in my car. Did they have resistors for the 80s?
My car is a 1981 silver 280zx if that helps?
Thanks in advance for all help. John

Welcome to ZDriver!

Is your Z by chance a turbo model? And are you looking for it because there's a problem w/ the car?

It indeed should look like this (technically from a 280z, but it looks the same for a 280zx):

As far as I'm aware like Nismo said, I think it only was on 81' 280ZX Turbos.

the resistor for the injectiuon was on the cars till mid 81, then it disapeared. if you have a o2 sensor, you wont have the resistor. but it is located by the clutch master like the picture shows. so why you wanna know???

Spitting? As in black carbon out the tail pipe? Or rough idle? Misfire? Only when it's cold or all the time? Have you checked the timing? All sensor connections? Vacuum hoses? Fuel pressure? n e e d m o r e i n f o . . .

The resistor is rarely ever a problem, and when it is, the injectors likely won't spray at all. Answer the above questions so we can start to diagnose the prob.
