HOW WOULD STOCK TURBO INJECTORS WORK ON 82 NONTURBO zx?
it depends on what gear is closest to a 1
in 5 speeds its 3rd in 6 speed its 4th most of the time, so if they use 3rd gear on my 4 speed it will likely be a little robbish of power. but thats not the reason why so much. i just want to. i feel so wierd with this 4spd turbo car and a 5spd non turbo car. and yeah, i want to wait till summer anyways. maybe if i get a job again i can keep both cars and then get my IC system hooked up get a lil larger injectors and up the boost a tad and take her to the track. i wanna see what it does in the 1/4 mile. then ill sell it. lol.

I don't know if those ratios are the same for all Z's, but that's what they're listed as in the Haynes manual for the ZX's.

Doing the dyno pull in 3rd gear will NOT "be a little robbish of power"! Doing a dyno pull in a shorter gear than 1:1 will give you greatly exaggerated power results. There's a shop here in the bay area that recently went out of business that was dyno'ing customer cars in 3rd gear to give them inflated dyno print outs. The customers couldn't figure out why they were getting smacked down at the race track by similar cars with less power (according to their dyno sheets). Because the shop didn't know how to build or tune a motor, they cheated their customers by faking the dyno results with 3rd gear pulls.

yeha but then i take away from my nice Z! i need another, im not gonna swap. and i know a shorter will be more power, you took me backwards in what i thought, and what i thought was also wrong. and ive seen plenty of 3rd gear pulls for the 1:1 match, or closest to it. not saying its every car or the most popular gear, but i have seen it done alot.
