It will cost more to procure any car made before 1975 than it would ever cost to make an 80s turbo car fast as well as emissions legal.
You certainly won't find any toyota, nissan, or mazda rear drive car of that vintage for less than 1500 unless it's nothing but rust like most early z cars.
I speak from much experience.

The 710 as of right now is our best bet. It has a ready and waiting professionally rebuilt motor, its local and its not a rust bucket. I mean 400 bucks?! Its a friggin steal!
I would totally go with a Z Wade, its just that I'm not the sole owner of this vehicle. Its a project with a friend so we agreed on a car neither of us has had. That means no Z's or Subaru's. Not that an old subaru is easy to come by. Ive talked the to the 710 owner and its looks promising. I'll let you all now how it goes
