Don't you put the regulator on the output side of the rail? It holds pressure inside the rail and releases fuel as needed back to the tank.
I like this one the best. This one is what I plan to buy, but for turbo engines.

I THINK SOME PEOPLE LEAVE IT HANG AND SOME PEOLPE MOUNT IT OFF THE SPOT WHERE THE OLD ONE MOUNTS

On the stock fuel rail, the regulator is last. The rail is a circle as you know and the entire rail is pressurized. The one spot where the fuel goes back to the tank is where the regulator mounts. The fuel has to go through the regulator to return to the fuel tank. The regualtor regulates how much fuel it will let back to the tank and that is what keeps pressure in the rail itself.
So if you follow the fuel lines, and your fuel filter goes to the line that feeds into the regulator first, then you have your fuel filter on the fuel return line!

so if i just buy a stock one then iam golden.... just mount it after the rail befor the tank return and she should work like a charm.......

For non-turbo apps such as yours you don't need anything special. Just pick one based on looks and price I guess...
