Fuel Pump running away!

I noticed in the past my fuel pump would run for 5-6 seconds when the car was first switched on, like it was priming the pump and then turn off until the car started. I would always wait until it stopped to start my car. But I noticed the other day that it just continues to run and doesn't do the hesitation thing. Does that mean a sensor is out, that the pump is going out or anything bad? it runs fine when it is started, so i wonder if it is okay for it to not hesitate after it does it's priming thing? Any suggestions?

means the system isnt holding pressure, or the pumps bypass is stuck open, not a big deal, but you could use a new pump, just wait till it dies tho, could be years, mine used to do that for 4 years, no prob.

hehe, mine does that now full time... aftermarket pump and custom wiring though. I'm going to wire in a toggle switch though so I can kill the pump circuit for when I just want key on. That noise gets annoying when you're just wanting the key on but not starting your car.

I'll put the switch out of the way...somewhere hidden. That way it can double as a security feature.
