Fuel pump, help??

Ok so I have decided to try and get my other z running. Put in new spark plugs, wires, got a 'new' old starter, and put some gas in the car. So far the car turns over but just won't crank. I'm thinking the fuel pump is bad because there is no noise when i turn the car on. I could be wrong but every time I turn my other z on I can hear it.

So basically my question is:
Is dropping the gas tank and swapping in a new fuel pump complicated?

You don't need to drop the tank to swap the fuel pump. It is really easy to get to it. It on the passenger side rear. Just jack up the back...support with jack stands. And either go underneath..to get to the pump. Or take the right rear tire off. Whatever will work best for you. And also..dropping the tank..isn't too terrible. I have done it..and probably will need to do it again. Good luck man..and keep us updated.

#1... When did the car last run?

#2... Have you checked for power at the fuel pump? It would suck to swap pumps only to find out it wasn't the pump...

Do you have spark?

If you don't, then you could have a dead ECU. It is simple to check. If i remember correctly, on the bottom of the ECU there should be an opening to view in with. Turn the car on and you should see a green light through the opening. No light could mean bad ECU.

Happened to me, first noticed that i didn't hear the fuel pump, bought a new fuel pump (did not install thankfully), was recommended to check spark, discovered I also didn't have spark, searched the forums here and found a mentioning of a light on the ECU, checked it and found out my car had an aneurysm.... Some of the electronics inside the ECU caught fire and burned
