Fuel pressure regulator - Adjustable or stock
Fuel pressure regulator - Adjustable or stock
Hi,
I installed a fuel pressure gauge on my 280zx, and it read 41 psi. Almost 50 when the engine was cold.
It should read about 30.
Would this make the car run way to rich? It runs pretty bad, maybe this could be one of the reasons.
I will buy a new fuel pressure regulator, hope it is that one.
Is there a need to get one of those adjustable ones?
Are they easy to install?
Or is that if you are really serious about tuning?
I just want the car to go as it is supposed to.
Thanks

Do you currently have the stock fuel pressure reg that's integrated into the fuel rail? Have you tried pulling off the vacuum line to see if it changes?
For a stock n/a engine, there's no need for an adjustable regulator. Also stay away from cheap ebay regulators. They usually leak down and cause hard starts. I suggest a new stock replacement, or tested used one.
