front shock problem

hey guys thanks for looking! i ran into a small problem. i replaced my back shocks with kyb's but as soon as i got to the front to put on my Tokico's it looks like if i got the wrong shocks. the front ones look alike my back ones. my T's look like a piston. i went online to see if msa sent me the wrong ones but no they show the same ones they sent me for my 280zx. do i like take apart the front shock then slide it into the thing that holds it or something? i never took off the front ones i left them on after i saw the difference. can someone help me out please and thank you

I even tried to do the hula dance, didnt work. Dont got the pics right now too dark to take em. Just figured that since the stock one is thicker than the a.m one it wasnt gonna fit properly

I've got tokico blues on my 81. They were a slightly different size but still worked no problem
