In all seriousness, how much power are you looking to get out of your 280zx?

Anyone from the Special Olympics can fab up an LS1 and then make their Japanese sports car defunct.

I direct you to Hybridz.org, who have multiple threads on Ls1 swaps, as we mainly deal with stock N/A and Turbo motors.

The V-8 swaps are easy enough fab wise because there are kits available. That being said most people here think domestic v8's suck, it's your car do what you want, but like our first sloth in space said hybrid z would be a more helpful sight if you decide the v-8 route. Also what are you trying to get out of this thing power wise, 350hp is a lot for these cars, are you upgrading everything else brakes suspension, if not you could have some major problems. a better compatible engine would be a complete L28et turbo swap, you can get then to 250hp fairly easy.

RB25DET with either a FS5R30A or FS6R31A tranny? The RB25DET seems to fairly easy to find from JDM sources, some are offered with the 5-speed manual as a bundled deal. 250 hp in a package configured almost exactly like the original L28.

I have the desired R-200 CLSD rear differential you'll need to match the power you're after. It's a direct bolt in with absolutely no mods. I woul be delighted to send you pics of it to an e/mail address. Thanks.

Please go here, I am running out of .gifs to reply with.

V8 Z Forums - HybridZ

We do not know very much about v8 swaps, we deal with the motor that originally came with our vehicle.
