Hahahahahahahaha.... Duh....

There are kits to make a SBC fit also..

What are you looking for??

If you want another engine inside of the Z, learn how to fabricate, and weld, and some basic electrical skills, and it can all be done.

Anything is possible with the right amount of time and money.

A small block Chevy engine does not BOLT in. Only the factory L-series engine bolts in.

L24, L26, L28, or L28eT

Flat 6 won't fit, it's too wide. Even an EJ20 won't fit unless you start cutting up the strut towers. But as everyone else is saying, if you have the $ it can be done.

I guess I'm a purist about such things. If its got an engine in it already just make that engine as best as you can. Personally after i win the lottery for me it will be an RB26DETT straight from Japan!

RB26 would be nice, too bad they cost an arm and a leg still. I think I'd use a 1jz if I had the time and patience to fab up the mounts. The more I ride in my friend's car, the more I want one instead of this rb20 that I'm sloooowly getting parts for. I know, I know, I should just go rb25, but the 20 was free so I'm just using what I got.

ick id go l28et over the RB20. such an inferior engine. however if its free it is a great motor and trans to get some mounts fabbed and driveshaft then get a 25 and just bolt it to the tranny drop it in and wire away

Yeah, eventually it'll be a rb25, but I can't argue with the price. My bro is picking up some stuff for me in Japan, so this motor should put down more power with better fuel economy (since it's only a 2L) than my L28 is. I've got some experience with these rb20's back when I was growing up. Parts seem easier to come by for this rb than my L28 since the junkyards are starting to run outta Z cars. I haven't seen a 280zxt in the yards in about 4 or 5 months now. If I need something down the road for the rb, I can just call the 'rents and have them ship it to me. I'll lose some lowend torque, but I definitely won't miss the topend power fade of this L28.

rb25 "kit" is only 2000 off ebay from ontario canada. my skyline buddy uses their engines and finds them to be quite good. i was gonna get one for my racecar, but ill stick with the L for now, then upgrade when my skill builds to meet the power of the rb!
