Engine sound

I've noticed that my engine sounds really "airy" in first and second gear. It kind of sounds like a vacuum cleaner. It runs perfectly fine, and has since the day I bought it, but is this normal for it to sound like this?

its a normal thing... but if its really loud like you got a wind tunnel under the hood.. it could be your fan clutch seazing up on you... oh man mine did that on the way back from LA... it sounded like i had a twister under my hood... but yeah.. that sound is pretty much normal... but id still check the fan clutch...

fan clutch

Dudes right they are loud when they stay engaged, mine was when i bought the car so I got new one. Done the same damn thing drove me nuts cause all you here was that fan. I took it off and got a nother one and it works fine. You should here the fan engage when the car is hot and and them back off as it cools things down. On and off as temp requires cooling needs.

What is a fan clutch, and how expensive is it to replace?
