i just installed a stereo system in my ride and i dont think the car likes it. using the wiring diagram and running new wires has the stereo working fine.........BUT now when i open any door of try to use my map light the digital clock cuts off and the alt. gage goes to zero. and none of the lights come on. except the door open light in the instrument cluster. has anyone had this problem before or any suggestions? ps all fuses are good

Make sure all your stock wires behind the radio are not touching. It is a good idea to tape them all so they can't make contact with anything.

ok so if you look in the dictionary under dumb *** you will see a picture of me.
i found out why my car was acting up. it turns out that a fuse was bad. see i was checking the fuses with a dmm so i wouldnt have to remove all them. but that circuit grounds on both sides so i was getting continuity across the fuse. yesterday i physically removed all fuses and checked them and low and behold there was a bad fuse. replaced it and it all works good now. so a lesson in troubleshooting is the rule of the day..
