What kind of distributor is on an 80' 280zx.Ive searched and cant find any threads that say what brand or type it actually is.Im trying to install my crane cams ignition set

Pop the cap. 1980 is not a crank angle sensor system. Should be dual or single points. Mechanical, electrical, or vacuum advance. Just pop the cap off, and do some looking.

 

i did that but i need to know which one it is to install the ignition kit on it.It doesnt say anywhere what brand of distibutor

There is usually a stamp on the side of the base. Can't see anything?
I don't have my original dizzy, or I would be able to help more.

The base, and metal case should have something stamped somewhere. If nothing else just a P/N that you can reference.
I would think type would be more important than brand.

 

well the install manual goes by brand of distributor as its universal so i have no idea of which one to go by.Im pretty sure ive got it though im either half way done or im costing myself more and more money with everything i do
