i do have a paint booth, and i paint customers cars as a side job, it pays for fun money and shop rent so i have no overhead. if you need a paint job and can come to canada ill paint your car in base clear for around 2000 cdn with no major bodywork. rust, ding etc. those are 30 bucks an hour to fix

I found something also. I got the car used of course so I went prowling in every nook and cranny of the car to clean it out. I removed the storage compartments behind the seats and found the factory coil and rubber cover and bracket just sitting under there, looked almost new so I put it back on the car and took of the very large Accel coil that you can see in my pics under one of my other post. I may put it back on now that the car is running right and see if it makes a difference. By the way, what is an "AFM"? are there any other common or uncommon abreviations for the ZX I should know?

AFM = Air Flow Meter

S30 = 70-78 240,260,280z

S130 = 79-83 280zx

Z31 = 84-89 1/2 300zx

Z32 = 89 1/2 - 96 300zx

Z33 = 350z

that should get ya going far a lil while

Don't worry about the Accel coil. I assume it's the big square yellow/tan one from the 80's, the Accel "Super Coil" that puts out like 60,000 volts? I've got one of those too! Just keep it as a spare and you'll be fine.

As long as you have good basic NGK plugs and wires, your stock coil will work like a champ.

Cool guys, thanks for the info. I checked the plugs and they are NGK plugs, the wires look stock, I have some taylor wires on the way as we speak. Zed...is the last letter in the alphabet, of course in our country we had to change everything when we came to this country and took it over many many years ago...not that I am complaining...I am American but I am teaching myself the Metric system and some other stuff, trying to learn French and Spanish. America is sort of a big melting pot anyway so I figure I will cover my bases.

I think this "Zed" issue is a monthly topic.

I still don't get why it's only Z...

Why not Bed... Ced... Ded... Ped... Ted... Ved... etc... ???????
