cleaning helps find stuff

i was just cleaning up my shop and found 6 afm's, who new i collected so many, and i found the turbo afm pipe i had been looking for 2 months ago, when i was asking how to build my custom intake pipes, i gotta clean my shop more.

Lost Vegaz 03-30-2006 10:58 PM

I want a shop to clean

skittle 03-31-2006 12:20 AM

oh yeah and the shop has to have a paint booth

SHADY280 03-31-2006 07:45 PM

i do have a paint booth, and i paint customers cars as a side job, it pays for fun money and shop rent so i have no overhead. if you need a paint job and can come to canada ill paint your car in base clear for around 2000 cdn with no major bodywork. rust, ding etc. those are 30 bucks an hour to fix

skittle 03-31-2006 11:21 PM

well canada is a quite a drive from las vegas plus i am going to do an alsa corp paint scheme, I have access to a paint booth to do all the prep work, but we can't paint in there cause of OCEA

I am building a shop my self. The building in built, just doing the inside now, it can hold 4, but were only gona put two in at a time. It's gona have a paint both, and a motor building bay, along with a chiter, got to have that.

I found something also. I got the car used of course so I went prowling in every nook and cranny of the car to clean it out. I removed the storage compartments behind the seats and found the factory coil and rubber cover and bracket just sitting under there, looked almost new so I put it back on the car and took of the very large Accel coil that you can see in my pics under one of my other post. I may put it back on now that the car is running right and see if it makes a difference. By the way, what is an "AFM"? are there any other common or uncommon abreviations for the ZX I should know?

skittle 04-06-2006 02:43 AM

AFM = Air Flow Meter

S30 = 70-78 240,260,280z

S130 = 79-83 280zx

Z31 = 84-89 1/2 300zx

Z32 = 89 1/2 - 96 300zx

Z33 = 350z

that should get ya going far a lil while

Don't worry about the Accel coil. I assume it's the big square yellow/tan one from the 80's, the Accel "Super Coil" that puts out like 60,000 volts? I've got one of those too! Just keep it as a spare and you'll be fine.

As long as you have good basic NGK plugs and wires, your stock coil will work like a champ.

Since we're on the subject of abreviations:
Anyone want to explain Zed to him?
I'm not stepping on any toes today :D

thxone 04-06-2006 11:45 AM

Cool guys, thanks for the info. I checked the plugs and they are NGK plugs, the wires look stock, I have some taylor wires on the way as we speak. Zed...is the last letter in the alphabet, of course in our country we had to change everything when we came to this country and took it over many many years ago...not that I am complaining...I am American but I am teaching myself the Metric system and some other stuff, trying to learn French and Spanish. America is sort of a big melting pot anyway so I figure I will cover my bases.

NismoPick 04-06-2006 02:30 PM

I think this "Zed" issue is a monthly topic.

I still don't get why it's only Z...

Why not Bed... Ced... Ded... Ped... Ted... Ved... etc... ???????

jfairladyz 04-06-2006 06:06 PM

Here we go again :D

SHADY280 04-06-2006 06:33 PM

lww 04-06-2006 09:03 PM

Dude, as long as you bring your "Z" you're welcome in MY country... :D

SHADY280 04-07-2006 05:10 PM
