Changing 5-speed tranny fluid.

Which plug on the tranny is the point to fill the fluid to? The Haynes says to use the plug on the left side on the tranny. I see two small plugs on the left and one larger sticking-out one on the right.

Thanks.

The fill plug. It should be obvious.

If the Haynes manual says left side... it's prolly on the left, not right.

Right and which is the "fill plug"? If I found it obvious why would I be posting here? Is "left" when you are standing behind the car to the left? If so, there are 2 smaller holes.

I think the fill plug might be the bigger one on the right when looking from behind the car.

Left & right is ALWAYS from when you are sitting in the car as if you were driving it.

Left side = drivers side
Right side = passenger side

The fill plug should be a male "square" ended plug in the middle (height wise) of the tranny that sticks out at least 1/2".

That plug is on the "right" side on my tranny. Weird.

Maybe I have some weird stock tranny or something.

("right" as in "passenger side")

Thanks.

Yeah, Nismo was laying on his back, upside down when he said that. The fill plug is on the RIGHT side of the stock 5-speed, non-T5, tranny.

I never said what side it was on tho. I did say it should be on the side the Haynes manual says it's on.

PS... Haynes manual page 34 does show it's on the right side... not left. But I imagine 2.8.0.Z.X got confused w/ the diagrams on page 155 which does show the filler plug on the left side.
