tranny fluid

pretty basic question here but i was a little nervous about doing it without some back ground
i ahve the drive shaft pulled out of the transmission doing the carrier bearing. for anyone that has seen the inside of these trannys, would it sound like a good idea to stick my tube from the fluid bottle in the back of the transmission to put a little fluid in? the plug on the side is stuck pretty good and this would save the trouble of getting that out. it looks like the bottom of the tail shaft opening is just about at the same height as the bottom of that fill hole, so i could get the level very close to perfect. any ideas?

should be a drain on the bottom a fill plug on the side. then run some hosing to it and fill her up till it starts to leak out of that hole (or the recomended amount which is usually where the hole is)

yea i know the way that you are supposed to do it, but i can't get the plug out of the side. i'm using a 3/8 breaker bar and i had my foot on the bar and hands against the back tire and i just can NOT get it loose. i hosed it down with PB blaster so maybe tomarow

for what the fill plug? yeah for some reason EVERY fill plug from factory is retardedly tight. so you might have to do what i ALWAYS do and make your own breaker bar. its basically the breaker bar, with my jack handle on it so its now and almost 4 foot breaker bar, just have some one hold the head of the breaker bar on the plug other wise it can start to slip out and round the square head in the plug

haha i started to round it out a bit by hand with a 14 inch breaker bar. and i was holding it in. that B is tight. i certainly hope it's been out within 150K miles. factory tranny fluid in there would not make me happy. it is making a bit of sound from the front shaft. i hope new fluid smooths it out
