car stereo connector
car stereo connector
So when i pulled the stereo out of red i thought about it and didn't cut any of the wires like you would do normly ..In hopes that someone out there offered a connector ...also i didnt give a crap about the stock deck so cutting the wires on that side of the connector and keeping your stock harness in tip top shape is the only way to go ....how ever if you do this you will find that for some stupied reson you wont have your middle front speaker working ....so i went to wal mart and looked though all of the SCOSCHE car stereo connectors in hopes that mabe they would have one for nissan cars. well they do..it says "select 74 -up nissan vehicles"on the front and on the back it says 280zx 79-83 along with a few other z car 240z 260z 280z ...so i buy it take it home and not one of though F--ing connectors fit any of my stock connectors .IAM PISSED
....so
I CALLED SCOSCHE ...and left a detailed message telling them my number and whats wrong ...we will see if they call back but really it says that it is for 280zx 79 -81 and for sure it DID NOT FIT ANY OF THEM at all !
PART # IS NN032 DONT BUY THIS

That sucks! I cut all my connectors and then just found power, remote power, and then ran new speaker wires. But in all that, my talking lady in the middle front speaker never stopped working as it was wired separately behind the dash.
I have a generic Nissan connector for 1984 and up. I dont' know if it will work but I'll see if it fits the stock radio one day when I tear the radio out of Mr. Parts Z.

do you remember what the brand name is???
my z had the stock stereo as a decoy for the longest time, i left it there, working, and had my deck in the glovebox and all the speakers concealed. when my z was stolen, they just ripped everything out, including the stock system, leaving the wiring a mess and shorting out my gauge lights, the clock and my alt guage. trying to figure out which wire was which was a nightmare. seemed like a few wires fed the same speaker, one of them was hot, but not the right amperage cuz it kept blowing fuses....man, i just gave up and ran a whole new set up completly seperate of the original system.
Haha, I made the mistake of buying that Scosche harness at Walmart too! And I lost the receipt, so I couldn't return it. Oh well at least it was cheap anyways. I just cut and spliced all the wires myself. I custom mounted right and left speakers, and wired up the original "left" speaker to be the center channel in a 5.1 surround setup.

That is a worthless part. I just ended up getting a stock stereo harness with the original stereo.
No more problems, I am keeping the origianal digital stereo with cassete. And hooking my discman for the CD player. Works for me, and I don't have to worry about anybody breaking in and stealing my 20+ old stereo!

I don't know if this would apply to a Zed, but on my old Pontiac Sunbird, when I installed an aftermarket deck, I kept the original connectors on the car's harness and spliced Radio Shack connectors into the deck's harness. Then I hooked them all up and filled the space around the connectors with a plastic putty. Mold it, let it dry, and unplug it. BLAMO! You have your own stock connector replacement.
Hope that helps.

WHAT EVER YOU DO DONT BUY THIS ....SCOSCHE DOENT KNOW WHAT THE HELL THERE DOING ... WHEN I TALK TO THE GUY HE SAID HE WOULD TELL HIS SUPERVISOR AND THEY WOULD FIX IT IN THERE CPU'S ....I DONT THINK THEY GIVE A ****............... BOYCOTT TIME
DONT BUY FROM THEM
DONT BUY FROM THEM
Although Scosche's stereo harness for our cars isn't right, they do make good, inexpensive stereo install goodies, like battery terminals and fuse blocks. I've bought those before and have been very happy with them.
i to have had good luck with other stuff from them befor i just wouldnt trust them again if you sell some thing you should at least know what your selling and if there stupied eff to write that it is for this car on the box then i dont want any thing to do with there junk ever again...
