Cant burnout on my 280zx

Im trying to do a nice burnout, but no can do. I rev up high then quick release the clutch and no luck. The only thing it does my tires do a small squeek and thats it. Before i ran stock 14's and now i got sticky 16's. Can someone tell me what im doing wrong?

You put bigger wheels and sticky tires on a car that's only putting 120hp to the ground if you're lucky and are still expecting to be able to burn out. That's probably what you're doing wrong

Go get some used crappy tires, put the front against a curb, pour bleach on the tires and let it rip... If that doesn't work move on to enjoying the car for what it is.

That's about it. It's an old car, and the N/A engine stock isn't all that powerful unfortunately, not to mention the 280zx is also quite a heavy car. Drop an l28et in there and maybe you'll get some wheel spin, but unless you're going for the "cool factor" or some smoke what's the point? Having to spend money on new tires?

Burnout = no traction = slow takeoff
