Brake conversion options?

I've got me an 81 and with all the work I'm putting into it, I can't justify leaving the brakes alone. Especially since they really kind of suck. In my reading I've come across a few different options but it looks like they all either need a lot of $$ or modification. A common one I've been running into is from the 300xz but that seems like I would need to change a lot of stuff. I've read mention of using calipers from 80's toyota trucks or something along those lines but I can't imagine that would be anything simple to do either. Also I still have my stock 14" rims and don't want space to become an issue.

I don't need anything too crazy for my car, it's not an all out racer, the most abuse it gets is the occasional day of autocross or a spirited rip down some twisty back roads at night. Just a little improvement would be awesome. Anyone know of a fairly simple conversion/ upgrade that I could pull off with little modification?

^^^ That's about the only "easy" and "cheap" 280zx brake upgrade.
