Anyone interested in an LED conversion kit?

That's the idea. I managed to get the wiring kits together for about half of what it would cost so I'm hoping to do an LED conversion for cheaper than it is to go out and buy them yourself. The S130 has kind of been overlooked for a long time so I like to try and support the platform if I can Electronics is my area of expertise so whatever I can do to help out there is right up my alley.

Has anyone seen the "warm yellow" LED's or whatever they are called? I switched my dome light over to a housing out of a Maxima so while I was at it I did the LED conversion. The cool white seems kind of sterile...

Just an update guys. I've got the LEDs in (a few weeks ago actually) and they look great. Just trying to source a good electronic flasher relay. The one's I got are not up to my standards so until then I'll keep looking. I want the kit to be as close to perfect and a great value for all you S130 fans out there

I've got the LED part together - just trying to find a reasonably priced electronic flasher relay to keep the cost of the complete kit down. I've got two on the way - hopefully they are better than the last turds I got....

Sucsess! I've finally found a relay I'm happy with. You can use any combination of LED/incandesent bulbs with it and it doesn't care. I found a lot of crappy setups that use a 9V relay and are completely unstable! Anyhow I have two sets in stock. $75 shipped for the marker, tail (brake, reverse and signal) and all the gauge cluster (in red) with two green signal light indicator LEDs as well as the electronic flasher relay. I'll order parts in for more sets once these two sell.

Well this is one of those you need to see it in real life but here's a picture to kinda give you an idea. Basically the red seems to be brighter with the LEDs and the orange signal is bright but not as bright as the incandescent bulb. The backups are pretty similar but however the camera interprets the light it looks a lot brighter in the picture and it makes the backup look quite yellow and brighter than it is in comparison to the LED. I didn't take any pictures of the side markers but the results are similar. The red LEDs are slightly brighter and the orange is slightly dimmer.
Left side - LED
Right side - Incandescent
Here's the BIG difference. The power consumption. All the lights on on one assembly with incandescent is 7 Amps - the LEDs are less than 0.5 Amps! That's just one side of your rear tail lights. There's some serious load taken off your electrical system with the LEDs.

the look of led's in our taillights isnt being done justice in the photo. at night the colors are extremely vivid. ive done this to mine by piecing it together but this kit offers a quick easy method. dont forget that the less power the laternator puts out the more power the engine gets to the wheels!!

As Shady is saying it is different at night (and in the day with your own eyeballs compared to the camera) because the light is a specific wavelength - eg red through a red lense instead of white through a red lens - all the other wavelengths except red are stopped by the lense with a white light.

try unplugging your alternator one day and let the load off of the poor thing, the idle rpm will jump very high as all that resistance is taken away. i know some drag race guys that turn theres off via a switch and do a pass for extra power. or the guys who dont even run one!
