AHH, HELP, dead Z help needed ASAP.
Ok ill make this brief, i have like a day to fix it.
CAR: 1982 280ZX N/A 2 seater, 5-speed
what happend: So there i am cruising along at 40 up to Big Bear Mountain when, literally, WHAM the car stops running. No warning, no signs, no nothing. It just stops and drops to 0 RPM.
I can turn it over freely.
Injectors are spraying (i can smell the gass when i turn it over)
Plugs are firing.
Nothing leaking, all fluids toped off.
FULL tank of 91 Octane gas (always ahppens like that huh?)
All the other electrical systems seem to work fine.I can turn on the headlights, blower fan, etc etc.
Anyways, i had the car towed to a family members house in the mountains, which happens to be 50 miles from where i am NOW and im going up there tomorrow to get it running. But anything i should bring with me? Any advice?
And, think this might be the brain that shorted out to cause this? Or something else?

Bring a spare or new coil. It could be as simple as the coil going out... you lose all spark.
unplug and re-plug in the ECU (not as likely but its free to do)
if you have a buddy with a spare distrubutor, bring a spare. Maybe the ignition module went out. Just swapping the whole dizzy will eliminate that issue.
Bring some starting fluid. Spray a little into the intake manifold through a vacuum port. seal the port and turn the engine over. If you're injectors are missfiring but you have spark, then you'll hear it fire a few times. If nothing, then you certainly have no spark.

UPDATE
Ok i finally had the chance to get a bit of work in on it. Put in a new coil pack, but i still have no spark.
She still turns over really clean, and the injectors are spraying.
I tried unplugging the ECU cleaning it up and plugging it back in, still nada.
Ideas? I got to try again to get it running, its 50 miles from my house and i need to get it home asap.

My Guess is the ignition module that is prone to go bad after 20 somewhats years
It is located at the front of distributor ( little black box) try to find a good second hand one or bite the bullet and buy a new one ( after you tested it with a junkyard one to make sure it is just that !)

the distributor has an ignitor chip on it, which is "before" the coil. mine i believe is out as well, its kind of an expensive part as far as ive seen. i have an 82 NA dizzy with ignitor on it that was on a working and driving ZX before i stripped it i could sell you if your interested
humm, interesting and good to know. Loking at that on the distrubiter yes it looks white and almost chared or aged....ok ill give it a chance.
How much? ill cover shipping and all that.
