I was just wondering if you guys thought that removing my air conditioning unit from my '79 ZX would be worthwhile? It doesn't work so does anyone know if I take it out, will that yield any performance gain? I figure since there would no longer be a belt running the ac unit (since it would be removed) that this would take some load off the engine (?). Is it worth taking out? Lemme know what you guys think...

 

yeah if you take it off it will take aload of the engine and also save you some weight....unless its real damn hot there and you wanna keep it....mine is in but no belt and im defenetly gonna get it working its hell here right now im sitting and sweating....so no ac would be brutal...

 

It can get pretty hot here, but I'm used to not having a/c...I think I'm going to at least pull the belt off for now...thanks.

 

I pulled mine out and saved almost 20kg in weight, that´s quite a performance gain
