i have a 83 280 zx this one happens to have the digitalmeter, does anyone know how to check if the unit is any good, this is my problem, as long as the key is in the acc position if you turn on the headlights everything works on it. as soon as you turn the key to the on position it goes blank , no speed reading no fuel reading temp nothing if any one knows where i can find info about it would be greatly appreciated

 

I'd take a look at the connection into the digital gauges, see if its a simple short, haynes manual shows which wire is hot for acc and start. Don't have the manual on me now, but I'll look tonight.
