80zx to 83zx?

Hey guys I have an 82 turbo I'm in the middle of building and I'm looking to get an 80 non turbo 280zx as a daily and future shell for my turbo motor due to very minimum rust and issues. I havee an 83 n/a parts car I am wanting to use for parts on the 80 when I get it and need to know if it will all swap over?? I'm wanting to swap members for rack and pinion steering, rear brakes and calipers possibly knuckles, etc etc... Will all of it just swap over or are there actual differences in the shell?? Thanks let me know

A 280zx is a 280zx.

The only major body differences are between the 2seater and 2+2... and the differences are in the middle of the car, and in the hatch area. Everything else is basically the same.

Yeah if you have 2 coupes, you are golden. Just curious, is the '80 a slicktop or T-top? It would be pretty cool, if it was a slicktop. Since Turbo's were only made in T-tops.

Pretty much everything will swap over and the shell is the same. The only differences off the top of my head....

Brake calipers
Sway bars - 82-83/turbos are heavier/different bushings
Reciprical ball/rack and pinion
B pillar trim
Exit for exhaust
NACA ducting for turbo/82-83
tail lights 79-81/82-83
turbo CV/NA u-joints
manual/auto/diff combos

Ok sweet yea I'll be swapping the brakes, rack and pinion, I like the stainless steel outer b pillar trim it has, have piping and downpipe for custom exhaust, the guy put 83 tail lights on it and it's a 5 speed as well as all the others one thing I noticed besides the awesome very minimum rust is it doesn't bang in the back from bad crossmember bushings! And the hatch struts even work and has the hood strut lol

80 rear disc brakes are a different size than the 83. Completely different part numbers as well, so specify the year of the brakes not the year of the car.

I learned that the hard way. I thought they would be the same, but the '80 brake pads are smaller.

IIRC the '83 rear brakes are the same as the S13s...
