So aside from the brief mention of a 280zx being traded for the life of that chick and the hazy outline of a S30 in the window in the begining when that dude is slamin some chick, lucy's mom i asume, there is no 280ZX or Z at all . . .

No, the 280ZX (and Lucy's mother) have not made any appearance in the series to date. After all, that took place 18-21 years prior to the present events of the show. It's just background setup.
