Question 280 zx with older z nose

Has anyone ever considered doing this ? Have you ever seen one done ? I've been considering it on my 83 , wonder how much trouble it would be to do.

Nose? As in bumper? Fenders / hood? Air dam?

Are you talking about the G-nose? Because that has been done: https://www.zdriver.com/forums/280zx-s130-forums-77/official-s130-280zx-arita-speed-g-nose-pre-order-order-here-26486/

No , not replace the whole doghouse , just bumper and grill. I like the look of the z nose , the g-nose isn't for me . The bumper , grill and front valance off the older z would be all I would want to put on my zx . Is this possible ? What are the dimensions of say a 77 and an 83 . Can these parts be put on an 83 without a lot of modification ?

I'm pretty sure you would have to cut everything in front of the fenders off and the graft the two together. Lots and lots of welding, warping and cursing!!!!!!!!! I like the s30 front ends better and everything behind that on the 280zx.

I like what Datsun did with the S130 to compensate for the "new" safety regulations. If you look at the 280z, the bumpers look out of place and just weird. With the longer nose the bumpers are integrated with the lines of the car. It just works.

It is a different look but that is not an S30 front end on a 280ZX. That is a 280ZX with a few pieces missing lool
