Hey guys
I just boght another 280zx, and this one is a 2+2. It is a 1979 non turbo, so dose any one know the top speed this girl will do. I havn't taken her out on the street yet. I am puting all her goodies in my 1980 280zx 2 seater. If any of you know the top speed just shout at me. I do know that the engine has 8.8:1 pistons, and geting more hp, and torqe. just don't know how much more speed, and am curious befor taking her out. I am geting all my restoring stuff from zcarparts.com you guys would be amazed at what you can get there. thanks.

 

The top speed of the 280ZX doesn't change much with higher compression +10 lbs of torque won't move you a whole lot futher with the resistance the car has at 125mph. Which 125-130 is about max speed for those cars.

 

Thanks for the info man. Right now I have been cleaning the interior. Everything On my 2 seater is all ariginal from the day it was sold on the dealership. I am proed, but I am going to change some of the stuff, like new seats, some new carpet, and new paint job, also new imblems. just taking a brake to watch the speed chanle.
