My daughter has a 1983 280zx turbo that she has been driving for a couple of years. The car starts just fine and runs for about 10 seconds, then it dies.I can not get it to restart until a couple of hours pass.If I try to give it a little gas when I start it dies and will not restart.Took it to the shop and they wanted to start with a 400 dollar tune up.So I took it back home replaced all the plugs, wires etc.Of course this causes no change in condition.Back different shop same tune up speech told already done.So they keep car for a week can't figure it out charge me some money and wish me luck.My abilities allow me to do maint. tune ups, brakes, minor repairs. We do not have a reliable quality import shop in my town so I would appreciate any ideas or suggestions.

Thank you,

Welcome to ZDriver!
Sounds like it's fouling out (too rich). Make sure all sensors are plugged in right... especially the head temp sensor on the right side of the head. Also, clamp off the fuel line before the fuel rail, crank the engine w/ the gas petal all the way pressed. Keep cranking till it starts. Then unclamp the line & see if it stays running.
