89 tt wont stay running/run
Hello fellas I am a new 300z owner i recently got this car in a trade
Its been giving me headaches since I got it,rarely it will start but only for less than a minute but sometimes more than a minute and after she starts and suddenly dies she wont start again. There was a compustar alarm installed at one time and even with the alarm harness unplugged she wont start. I have made sure I have lots of fuel/fuel-pressure to the engine but when I checked for spark I put an in line spark tester and saw minimal spark going to the plug.
I am a msd and carburator kind of guy old school v8's and stuff like that and am a bit stumbled as to where I should start. I have read on some forums about the cas....? Is this a common thing for these cars?
Any help would be greatly appreciated cause I dont want to bring it to some rip off mechanic.

I'm an Advanced Certified MECP installer. Check your ignition harness coming from your key cylinder. There should be a wire that's cut in half. The key side should go to a green or green/black wire, and the car side should go to the opposite of the two green wires. Splice that cut wire back together (that's your starter wire from your key that is spliced into the starter kill relay in the alarm module) and unplug the alarm. If it starts and stays running you know it's the alarm to blame and could be either the neutral safety wire or the alarm is in valet mode. Hope that helps!

1990-91 Nissan 300ZX Alarm, Remote Starter, Keyless Entry Wiring Information
According to this (the website I use for all the remote starts and security systems I install) the starter wire is a black wire with a white stripe. Take off the drivers knee panel, and steering column cover and look for where that wire is interrupted and splice it back together there, then unplug the alarm. Good luck!
