Transmission dip stick
Hello people of the Z threads im new here i recently picked up a 1981 280zx turbo im farrely new to Z's they run through my family but i recently got my first this year so im tryna get some information and basically i believe i need some transmission fluid but im having the most difficult time finding the dip stick if anyone out there can shed some light i would greatly appreciate it.

If it's a manual you aren't going to find a dip stick. There should be a Plug screwed into the side of your tranny. Stick your finger in there and the fluid should be level with this hole.
The automatics should have a dipstick, but I'm not sure. I've never dealt with an auto Z. So I can't tell you where it is either.

ah another fellow 81 280zx turbo.. these only came in automatics btw... it is on the passenger side of the engine under an A/C line going into the firewall...to the left of the injector cooler fan..
