If it's a manual you aren't going to find a dip stick. There should be a Plug screwed into the side of your tranny. Stick your finger in there and the fluid should be level with this hole.

The automatics should have a dipstick, but I'm not sure. I've never dealt with an auto Z. So I can't tell you where it is either.

Thanks for that tidbit of info on the auto only. Was that only in 81 that it only came with auto? I know in 82 they became available in 2+2, but what about manual tranny?

In '82 they gave it a 5-speed. In '83 they gave it digital gauges.

'82 options were three-speed auto or five-speed manual

Thanks for the info, I learn something new almost everyday. And sometimes it's even useful.
