Timing Chain - L24/L28

Is there a difference in the timing chain or the guides or something from an L24 to an L28?

The blocks are the same height so I would think the chain is the same length. Part numbers are different for the complete set on those two.

Hmm ... I would have imagined they were the same part. Then again, GM uses completely different part numbers for the EXACT rear defrost switch between an '88 Grand Am and a '88 Cavalier.

If anything, it's probably they set up a part number when the L24 came out, then the L28 came about, and I'd imagine all new part numbers are created to keep the parts arranged by car. My other guess would be that way they could charge more for the exact same part since the L24 was an older car, and the parts were *harder* to come by.

I know of no differences in the actual parts themselves other than the assigned part #'s.
