Timing

ok. I got the crank and 0 mark painted. But i can't get them to line up with the light. If i pull the dizzy adjust bolt. to make the makrs line up. it kind of runs like crap. For timing. Do you make it hit the 0 mark. or is a diff mark i am aiming for?

0 means TDC (top dead center)... which is great when disassembling the engine, but not for driving. I believe the n/a engine should be 10-12 degrees below TDC.

Actually on my n/a '82 280zx. It is 8 degrees below top dead center for timing. That is what it says under my hood.

my sticker's are gone due to the fire the car had been in. and my books said to look at the sticker for timing degree's. Lot of good that does.

If yours is an n/a like mine, it should be the same. 8 degress below TDC. Try it and see if it works. It worked great on mine, that is for sure.
