That could be possible, maybe your fan clutch is worn out. You can get one lifetime, for like $20 or so. How about a fan shroud, do you have one of those? Those are verry crucial to cooling, as I have found out with my Z's.

 

Yeah without that shroud the fan will draw air from the back side of the radiator instead of pulling it through the front of the radiator. Very important for cooling while sitting at a stop. But if the car stays cool while driving and overheats while sitting then its most likely the fan clutch like WildmaN said (unless of course your shroud is missing )

Usually either a junkyard, E-bay, or classified ads. Or you could try the marketplace here, and start a thread asking if anybody has one to sell you. I got lucky, and got mine from e-bay, because I couldn't get them new. And down here in Arizona, especially in the summer. You need all the cooling you can get. And the shrouds (upper and lower) are verry crucial in the cooling process. But also try a new fan clutch, because that can make a difference also.

And just to clarify, the shroud is the piece that surrounds the fan.
