that's what you want to be, right...? rich?
Lifegrddude was running SVO 370cc injectors w/ his stock turbo ecu & had the AFM turned down. I think 450cc's are overkill for a stock engine. You really don't need injectors that big, until you get into the 375-400hp range.
hmmmm... so crank the boost. DEAL! lol.... ok so it will open them the same percentage and run it rich. thats what i was thinking. i could turn down teh AFM and try to make it work.. but i really want to get the fuel rail in there first off... for future upgrades. second off its gonna clean **** up get rid of the retard injectors and fuel rail. also i can get a better FPR cause mine i believe is shot. im just gonna run rediculously rich.. which i want to run a little rich since im going turbo on my NA i dont want to pre det. but it will run retardedly rich is what im getting from this. however i can piggy back it with a an SAFC temporarily. which i think i might be abel to borrow one till i get megasquirt funds and patience. lol. on the other note... whats the diff bettween teh NA and turbo AFM's and ECU's??? just curious. i might want to look into getting a turbo one since im converting. by the way the converstion is till the compression in the botor goes bye bye that way i can build a power machine and crank the boost and put those DSM injectors to work.

Long story short... if you're building a turbo motor... use turbo parts.

Just oil cooled. Later Z31 turbochargers were watercooled.
OH THANK GOD!!!! lol... i was gonna **** my pants if it was water cooled to.... hmm i think i got the turbo afm coming.. i just gotta get the ecu.. im guessing the harness is different huh?
basically im getting oil pump. j pipe. turbo. turbo exhaust mani. turbo injectors
i think the intake system for turbo. and turbo oil pan.. and the T for the oil feed... i still need oil feed and rturn lines and tehn ECU i guess.. an clue where i can get the oil lines? im havin a bitch of a time locating them

i got the T coming.. but wont i need banjo bolts and the head for them for the feed line? or... hmm.. see im just worried about not getting the oil lines to thread properly or flow right if i do that.... you know? i wanted to use SS lines though... hmmm... we shall see.. right now im in the garage on the lappy gonna pull all the clutch hydraulics and pedal assembly fo Dgriffin and then i need to pull the harnesses... might need help with one of those so stay tuned!

shhhhh...... this is my ecu thread... we cover EVERYTHING!!!!! that really blows. hmmm.... well im only gonna run the stock 7 psi and with turbo injectors and AFM ill see if i can pull some **** outta my *** untill megasquirt time.... so wait... how do you guys plug the Z31 ecu in???? do you have to cut and solder in the new clip for the ecu? is it that easy?

280zxt & Z31 ecu plugs are the same. Review these threads: https://www.zdriver.com/forums/280zx-performance-technical-79/z31t-ecu-swap-now-complete-19101/

My NA FI harness was not loomed into the chassis. Unless you're talking about right behind the battery. If so that is just where you connect power to the turbo harness too. I see you're going to have a hard time with this...
oh I get it now.. .your 260Z's fuel injection wiring looms right into the dash wiring harness. That is correct.

ooo funy!!! no the 83... thats all that is loomed into it is the power wire? cause thats no big then.. its just all loomed together in one through the head lamps and then into the thick *** engine harness that goes into the dash harness... i didnt thiink about it just being the power wire.... so thats cool. i guess... any one got a spare turbo harness lieing around and ecu? any one? lol..... any one? ok im learnign alot here really quick so thats sweet.. this will be a good thread for anyone else that wants to know anything about ecu's so thats cool.
and im not haveing a hard time... just learning fast... so basically after the ground in the FI harness where it looms thinly into where the headlamps plug into the only thing in there thats part of the FI harness is power wire this is what i understand?

wow... so i finally got my harness pulled... it actually looms into a giant square around the engine compartment... some of those wires are really retarded... one part of the loom goes into the finder then under the dash and into a hug loom and dash harness that makes no sense... so i had to cut those 5 wires... everything else is unplugged though.. i cant believe they wired the ECU harness in with the other harness's thats lame.... i almost want to just seperate the ECU harness and use the harness thats already torn up in the 260 for the oilpressure sender thermostat coil headlights you know... that junk.... but at the same time i dont know... i just wish that 83 engine harness would plug into the 74 dash harness... but life cant be simple.. other wise i have to find out what each color wire does and hardwire it to the sorrespinding wire in the 260... you dont think they used the same colors do you? cause that would be sick!
What are you doing?!? The fuel injection harness never touches the headlights!
AFM to injectors, through firewall to the ECU. A smaller line from near the firewall goes over towards the battery and also connects to your oil pressure, head temp. that is all.
The wires that connect to the distributor have nothing to do with your fuel injection. Just power and ground. You can rig that up in your 260Z with a generic low amp relay.
SLOW DOWN!
I pulled the non turbo fuel injection harness out without touching the chasis harness that goes in a square around the engine compartment. I did the same to the turbo car and dropped it in place. The car runs!
...and I'm using all my original dash wiring and lights.

man... im takaling this harness today if i get all the other stuff off the car im selling... i still dont know what i want to do... i want to just splice in the wires from the engine compartment harness into the dash harness connectors.. but then teh headlight connectors are wrong and then i dont know about the 7 wires i had to cut where they ran to.. i cant find a wiring diagram that tells me both teh color of the wires and what they are for on the 260z dash harness and the 280zx engine compartment harness... and i dont want to use the stock 260 harness cause it wont match the alternator and it think all the stupid little relays fusable links and that garbage are pulled out of it..... this blows... what do you guys think? which way would you go?
and does anyone know what wires i cut? and where they were going to ? lol if you look right by your battery on the ZX's there is a small part of the harness that comes off the harness and one of the relay boxes that runs into the passanger side fender into teh car under the dash.. i just cut them cause the seemed to run into the giant loom under there and had no end.... anyone know what these where? help a bro out.

yo sno..i still have a turbo ecu and afm...just chillin in idaho...give me the word and i'll send it out....
yeah if i recall the only wire that connects the two harness together, is the one wire me and nismo had to connect, after the z31 ecu swap.
, so sno...your wrong, and bleach is still the man.

hmmmm.. interesting.. i thnk im just gonna splice it in though. cause i know this harness works. and on hybridZ turns out out of the 3 connectors i disconnected from the dash harness.. i only need to use 7 of them. lol. and tehn the ECU of course.. and i could use the ECU wrecked... but ill need the efi harness for it.. so im only half way there lol. but i got a turbo AFM already actually. so you start your turbo swap or what wrecked? wheres your cars at these days? and if any one has a turbo ecu harness holla at me i could use it.. but i think i may have resolved my own problem... haha.. sorry i was stressin before.... i went night flying and so im all chill now i guess... saw a head on colision from the sky. that was diff.. right off the northeast corner a half mile away from the airport when i was flying the pattern... emergency vehicles every where
haha.. you can have that decath ill just get me a extra 300 or perhaps christian eagle... or pitts S-2....
nad btw i think im gonna get that ecu from wrecked after all now im just searching for a turbo wiring harness.. only found one... for 100 dollars... psh.. i emailed him gonna try to talk him down. any recomended prices guys?
