Have you checked the fluid level in your brake reservoir? And if you have an early ZX they came with non-maintenance free batteries from the factory that you had to check the fluid level every so often to make sure they didn't dry out. There should be a wire somewhere near the battery (or if your lucky the entire level sensor rod!) and just connect that to the +side of the battery. No more light!

Wait, I had a brain fart... There is no "Brake" light in the warning lamp system. http://xenons130.com/warninglamps.html You need to go check your tail lights and make sure the brake sides isn't corroded or damage and that the brake lights themselves actually work.

What year is your car? As far as I know, there is no "BRAKE" warning in the square box... it is STOP like Blue said. There is a BRAKE light above for fluid / e-brake.
