Rotor keeps changing position 83 280zx

Ive been have issues getting this Z to start properly. Before i changed the plugs the car would start run rich then shut off due to flooded plugs. i changed out the AFM, Fuel filter, regulator, cold start valve, relays, ecu, plugs, rotor. The rotor doesnt stop at same position, it points to different stops everytime the car is cranked up. So postion one can be position 2 next crank up, then position move to 5 next time. Nomatter what position i put the plug wire in, it wont be right after i crank it.

you got something busted no way the rotor can change around. the dizzy is driven off the oil pump by a land in a slot. the rotor can only go on one way. so between the oil pump and the rotor something is broke. the other possibility is you don't have a clue what you are looking at.

Sorry maybe I am looking a little deep into this. The chances of the car lining up at TDC and rotor at #1 after every crank are pretty slim, is this what you are reffering to? Or it actually doesnt FIRE on #1 after you set it to #1. If you take the cap off, the rotor will land at whatever the next cylinder was going to fire, it wont end up on #1 all the time.
